Carol Lee Cooper

Multi-talented Carol Lee Cooper, known for landing the "interviews of a lifetime," hosted her own hour-long WSM “Nashville Nights With Carol Lee” talk show.

She has done exclusive interviews with such legends as Mayberry’s Andy Griffith, Dolly Parton, Gene Autry, Eddy Arnold, Connie Smith, race car king, Richard Petty, and an unheard of two-hour exclusive with Garth Brooks and many, more. CAROL LEE has done over 200 interviews with the greatest superstars of our time.

CAROL LEE became a member of the Grand Ole Opry when she was 14 along with her parents, Wilma Lee and the late Stoney Cooper. As a child, she toured the country, performing and showing her tremendous abilities as a singer and musician at an early age.

She recorded with her famous mother and father on records that now have become “classics”. Songs like “Big Midnight Special”, “Come Walk With Me” and “Loving You” are just a few of the hits that CAROL LEE shined with her beautiful soprano voice that “fit like a hand in a glove” with Wilma Lee and Stoney Cooper. Truly historical music.

And speaking of musical history, CAROL LEE has sung on some of the Greatest Country Classics of all-time. She was an intrical part of the “Conway Twitty Trio” sound for ten years ... a sound that was developed by Conway and Owen Bradley who was undoubtedly the most prolific Country Music producer in history.

When Owen and Conway were looking for that “unique” sound, CAROL LEE and her vocal style, along with L.E. White, were the perfect match. And the rest of the story is musical history. Songs like “Linda On My Mind”, “This Time I’ve Hurt Her More Than She Loves Me”, “You’ve Never Been This Far Before”, “Hello Darlin’”, “ It’s Only Make Believe”------ are just a few of the “classics” that CAROL LEE has been a part of.

All in all, CAROL LEE has received 23 NARAS Awards, an award given to the people that are a major part of the success of a song becoming a #1 smash hit.

Twenty three #1 smash hits to have sung on with her unmistakable style------a true testimonial to CAROL LEE and her tremendous abilities.

Carol Lee made history by being the first female announcer for the “Ernest Tubb Midnight Jamoboree“ on WSM and has followed in the steps of Keith Bilbrey, Hairl Hensley, and Hall of Fame Announcer, Grant Turner.

She has also hosted a variety of WSM’s morning drive shows. She has been featured in such magazines as FORBES, PEOPLE, and COUNTRY AMERICA to name a few.

CAROL LEE was presented with the Media Award from “Rope International” … The Reunion Of Professional Entertainers, honoring her “Lifetime Achievements In Country Music” on November 7, 2002.

She was also honored with the “North America Country Music Associations, Int’l Hall Of Fame Award” in 2003 in ‘Recognition of her part in the Heritage of True Country Music.’

CAROL LEE produced and directed 14 Country Music artists in the Charles Dickens' Classic …"A Christmas Carol" for her WSM radio talk show, “Nashville Nights With Carol Lee”. The artists even performed a segment on the "Grand Ole Opry" stage as TNN cameras filmed a special feature about it.

The stars included Grandpa Jones as “Scrooge, Little Jimmy Dickens as Bob Cratchit, Jeanne Pruett as Mrs. Cratchit, Jimmy C. Newman as Marley’s ghost, Bill Anderson and Johnny Russell as the Christmas Spirits, Porter Wagoner as the Gentleman, Mike Snyder as Scrooge’s nephew, Jan Howard as Belle, Jeannie Seely as Fan, Little David Wilkins as young Scrooge, Skeeter Davis as Martha, Jumpin’ Bill Carlisle as Fezziwig, and Carol Lee’s daughter, Shannon Snow Rogers as Scrooge’s neice.

CAROL LEE is especially proud of this work.
